I tried to link to a page from the How To Wiki collection but the link didn't resolve. I forked the target page, and now it does.
How can I link to someone else's page? Can I ensure visitors will go to the same place I intended?
Alan Levine I asked the question to TheWard in office hours. He hinted that an URL link (as done for outside content) is NotGood as it looses its Federated wiki-ness. I summarized how I learned he did it in my own note, which I can both link to as a wiki link Dec 18, 2014 (of course of its mine, I do not have to fork) and summarize via an icon drag from the adjacent page.

Better understanding of editing/forking (same thing), and a lot of help by Ward Cunningham demos in google hangout. There's something he did to link to other Fed Wikis, two browser windows, sliding another wiki window to the right of the editing one. Let's try this.

When I fork, I assume I'm freezing my version in time - I'll need to do some work to update it if the original author or others change it. Can I link to their version, trusting them to maintain intent?
